International Cricket Council:
International Cricket Council is an organization which is international governing body of Cricket. It was founded in 1909. It was previously known as Imperial Cricket Conference. Then, it was renamed as International Cricket Council in 1965. International Cricket Council organizes cricket major international tournaments. Australia, England and South Africa were the founding members. In the beginning, only countries with commonwealth could join. These members are then joined by India, New Zealand, West Indies and Pakistan. In 1961, South Africa resigned due to their leaving commonwealth but they continue to play test cricket until their international exile in 1970.
There are 5 confederations. The five Confederations are given below:
- Africa – African Cricket Association (AFC)
- America – ICC Americas
- Asia – Asian Cricket Council (ACC)
- East-Asia Pacific – ICC East-Asia Pacific
- Europe – European Cricket Council (ECC)
